Manus Solis for Firms

Firms can pay for partners and senior staff to enrol in the Vis Viva program. The care is the same as for private patients. The firm receives the invoice.

Manus Solis is a physician-led practice for hormonal and metabolic health: perimenopause and menopause, low testosterone, thyroid disorders, insulin resistance. Dr. Handsun Xiao sees every patient himself, by video, anywhere in Ontario.

A firm can buy seats in the program for named members of its team. Each member enrols voluntarily and becomes a patient of the practice in the usual way, with the same visits, bloodwork, prescriptions and follow-up. The only difference is that the firm is invoiced.

This is not a benefit for a whole workforce. Insurers cover that market at a few dollars per employee per month. Manus Solis is for a small number of people who need extended physician time over several years.

Hormonal decline overlaps with peak career years

Perimenopause, menopause and andropause usually begin between 40 and 60, the same years a partner, executive or senior specialist carries the most responsibility. The common symptoms, disrupted sleep, poor concentration, low mood and fatigue, directly affect performance in the role.

Standard plans pay for the drug, not the physician time

The Menopause Foundation of Canada estimates that unmanaged menopause symptoms cost the Canadian economy about $3.5 billion a year. GreenShield, one of the country's largest benefits carriers, reports that 13% of employers offer adequate hormonal health support. A typical drug plan pays for the prescription. Getting the prescription right takes several physician visits over months, which most plans do not fund.

Treatment needs time and continuity

Hormonal and metabolic treatment is adjusted over months, against symptoms and bloodwork together. It requires longer visits than a family practice can offer, and the same physician at every visit. A seat provides both.

Treatment, not a report

Executive health assessments in Toronto cost several thousand dollars a year and produce a report. A Manus Solis seat pays for a year of treatment by the same physician, at a similar price.

Structure

How a Sponsored Seat Works

Step I

A conversation

Dr. Xiao discusses fit, seat count and how members will be invited. Thirty minutes, no preparation needed.

Step II

Members enrol individually

Each member books a discovery call, completes the intake and consent forms, and starts Vis Viva Onboarding: a 60-minute visit, comprehensive bloodwork, a written prescription, compounded medication delivered to them, and a follow-up visit at 4 to 6 weeks.

Step III

Continuity, invoiced to the firm

Members continue in the annual Continuity program: scheduled consultations, ongoing labs, prescription management and Vis Viva Score tracking. The firm receives an invoice and a seat count, and no clinical information.

Plain Terms

Pricing
Pricing depends on the number of seats. One seat costs the practice's published rates: Vis Viva Onboarding, $895, then Continuity, $3,500 per member per year. From five seats, the per-seat rate decreases with each tier. The firm is invoiced per enrolled member. There is no minimum.
Tax treatment
Physician fees of this kind are generally eligible medical expenses, so seats can usually be claimed through a Health Spending Account. If the firm pays directly rather than through a private health services plan, the Canada Revenue Agency treats the payment as a taxable benefit to the member. Confirm with your plan administrator or accountant.
Privacy
The medical relationship is between the member and the physician and is governed by Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act. The firm knows which members hold seats, because it pays for them. It is not told anything about their care.
Choice
Enrolment is voluntary. Any member may instead pay for individual visits at the published rates. A seat is never a condition of access to any service, and OHIP-insured services are never included in a seat.
Scope
Manus Solis does not replace a family physician, a group benefits plan or emergency care. Members keep their existing medical team, and the practice coordinates with it.
