At Manus Solis, our physician prescribes Health Canada-approved bioidentical products, such as estradiol gel and patches and micronized progesterone, where they meet the need, and individually compounded formulations prepared by Trutina, our Ontario compounding pharmacy partner, where a dose or route calls for them. Each protocol is titrated based on comprehensive bloodwork and monitored through our Vis Viva scoring system.

Yes. Manus Solis offers virtual telemedicine consultations for bioidentical hormone therapy and functional medicine to patients across Ontario. Consultations are physician-led, confidential, and conducted on your schedule. Bloodwork requisitions and prescriptions can be managed remotely, with compounds shipped directly from Trutina, our Ontario compounding pharmacy partner.

Manus Solis was founded by Dr. Handsun Xiao, MD, CCFP. Dr. Xiao is a McGill alumni with BHRT through WorldLink Medical and Institute for Functional Medicine, Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (IFM AFMCP). All patient protocols are physician-directed and evidence-based. Consultations are available in English, French, and Mandarin.

What is the Vis Viva Score?

The Vis Viva Score is a proprietary vitality metric developed by Manus Solis that quantifies your biological health across three measurement domains: Sensus (the felt experience, including symptom scores, mood, sleep quality, energy, cognitive clarity), Pulsus (the biological signal, including HbA1c, insulin sensitivity, lipids, inflammatory markers), and Virtus (the body in motion, including VO2 max, grip strength, body composition, wearable data). Every intervention is measured across all three domains and tracked longitudinally.

Is Manus Solis covered by OHIP?

Physician consultations at Manus Solis are private-pay and are not covered by OHIP. Laboratory tests that OHIP insures are billed to OHIP by the laboratory; uninsured tests are billed to the patient by the laboratory. Compounded medications are billed by the pharmacy. Fees are eligible for health spending accounts and the medical expense tax credit.

Can I see Dr. Xiao in person?
